If only Goldilocks had known how to follow rules, she never would have burned her tongue, broken chairs, or jumped out of a window! If she had known how to follow a map, or how to politely knock on a door and wait for an answer, maybe she would have lived happily ever after, don't you agree? If only she had known the dangers of that forest full of bears.
Young learners are not too young to learn age appropriate safety rules for using iPads and the internet. Using technology can put young children in harms way, if they are not taught the importance of digital citizenship. Even as early learners, children are creating an online presence and profile that may last a lifetime. It is our responsibility as educators to keep our young students safe and parents informed, and savvy when using online tools.
